What to Pack

1500x445

Best to pack efficiently as all boats have storage restrictions. Prepare your stuff then bring half! The living is simple and you will find that you will wear the same thing every day. Here are a few things to consider.

No suitcases as they cannot be stowed once on board - pack your gear in a back pack or soft sided bag, duffel bag (avoid wheels). Duffle bags can be folded away – as for a suitcase – you’ll be sleeping with it.

We are an eco-friendly boat and attempt to minimize our impact whenever possible.

Sunscreen Zinc oxide, titanium dioxide are mineral based sunscreens. NO Oxybenzene or Avobenzene – My Mistress is an eco-friendly boat and these products cause great harm the critters in the ocean and you. You may have to purchase them in a health food store. Toiletries: We insist on using biodegradable soaps and shampoos. Refer to www.ewg.org for product evaluations.

Please no spray sunscreens on the boat – welcome to use them onshore. Rash guards (aka: surf shirts, swim shirts) are an excellent way to stay sun safe.

Think about coordinating your clothing around sun protection since we will be on the water all day, every day and comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement on the boat. AND ladies - don’t forget that little black dress and gentlemen, something dress up too! There are some super special stops along the way!

We ask that you bring your own Water Bottle. There are no recycling facilities on any of the islands. Drinking water will be provided.

•  Please do NOT bring suitcase - soft duffle bags only
•  Please do NOT use spray sunscreens on the boat
•  Health and Travel Insurance
•  Mosquito repellent - we have found that the locally source repellent works great and isn’t as toxic as commercial brands. NO DEET.
•  Head lamp
•  Bikinis / swim trunks
•  Onshore and offshore shoes – barefoot on the boat is fine or non-marking shoes.
•  Rain jacket—hooded, lightweight, breathable

•  long-sleeved shirt
•  Shorts

Bring your own alcohol or we can provide upon request. Daily sunset rum cocktail provided! We discourage drinking alcoholic beverages while under sail for safety reasons and your personal comfort.

Three of the evening meals (on a 7 day trip) will be provided on the boat. The other evenings you are sure to enjoy the fabulous restaurants onshore; from simple beach BBQs to five star resort chefs. You will be responsible for all onshore expenses included meals, the BBQ beach night and transport expenses. We are happy to take you to shore and bring you back.

Money: Local currency is easily available via ATMs. U.S. generally accepted. You will receive your change in local currency.
