The 5 Gyres Institute

Making Waves Sailing is proud to be an Ambassador to The 5Gyres Institution. The 5 Gyres mission is to empower action against the global health crisis of plastic pollution through science, art, education and action. Making Waves Sailing performs hands-on research in the oceans on the effects of plastic and use this research to drive tangible solutions through policy, design and cultural changes. As we sail we conduct water samples from our trawler to analyse and report our findings.

We are happy to share what we have learned and our sailing adventures so please enquire about speaking engagements. We strive to inspire our communities, locally and internationally, by taking positive action and raising awareness about local issues to solve this global problem.
